HP hopes that the new Performance Center and the new Application Lifecycle Management service will allow IT organisations to better plan and manage development cycle, provide support and software lifecycle management for large-scale enterprise systems.

I wanted to add to this article, that one of the important updates in 9.5 for PC and LR - is WAN Emulation, that was brought back by Shunra and HP together into LR.
ReplyDeleteRunning a load test in LAN or on production link will not produce realistic results, and this recent addition actually takes us a few steps forward: it provides a simple GUI to add WAN conditions to our load generators and also allows LR and HP PC to analyze the results based on "Virtual WAN" grouping, i.e. I can run a test in a lab and let my load generators "FEEL" as if they were running from remote locations and then at the end of the test - group them. So I will know - on which links it will work and how my WAN conditions will affect application performance both from End User perspective (Response Times) and Server capacity (Scalability). Make sure you use WAN Emulation in your testing efforts.
